Here is a guy I made. This is from a concept drawing for my Light Grey Art Lab Role Models piece. I liked it so I thought I’d do it up real quick. So much role playing, D&D, fantasy type doodles going on in my sketchbooks lately.
I partook in a workshop at Light Grey Art Lab this weekend led by Victoria Ying and Mike Yamada. It was a great time, highly informative and inspirational. This is the thing I made for the in-class assignment, making a little character scene of Hansel and Gretel. Nothing like the warm glow of a birthday cake candle to keep you warm in the woods.
I was glad to be asked to contribute some work to Illozine 5 a zine headed up by the excellent Jim O’Brien. It’s a collaborative project featuring ton of great stuff from a bunch of illustration types.
I love drawing with brush pens with no planning, no pencils, just putting ink on the page and seeing what happens. So much of what I do these days is painting, its nice to do some line work occasionally.
Maybe I should buy a bottle of ink and a new brush and some nibs…
